PRESS RELEASE

From the Hollywood Vampires to Lucerna. Doctor Victor Welcomes Prince’s Bassist

Prague, September 7, 2026. A performance with LUCIE before the Hollywood Vampires, an unexpected encounter with Alice Cooper, and praise from the American supergroup’s team. Vojtěch Bureš, frontman of DOCTOR VICTOR and guitarist for Wanastowi Vjecy, has had an extraordinary evening. On Friday, September 18, he will take the stage as the frontman of his own band at Prague’s Lucerna Music Bar. The special guest will be Ida Nielsen, the bassist who played alongside Prince.

He went to check the equipment. He met Alice Cooper

The Hollywood Vampires concert in Prague at the Fortuna Sports Hall on September 6 was opened by LUCIE, with whom Bureš performed as a special guest. The evening thus brought together the Czech rock scene with a band featuring Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen. But the unexpected moment of the evening didn’t come until after the Hollywood Vampires concert had ended. As Bureš describes, he was heading backstage to check on his guitar and gear when Alice Cooper showed up. The spontaneous encounter, captured in a group photo, was accompanied by praise for his guitar playing from the Hollywood Vampires team.

While Bureš accepted LUCIE’s invitation this time, on September 18 he will be the host.

Together with DOCTOR VICTOR, he will welcome one of the most prominent figures in the world of funk, Ida Nielsen, to the Lucerna Music Bar.

Ida Nielsen

The Danish bassist and singer spent several years working alongside Prince. After his death, she focused on her own music, blending old-school funk with hip-hop and reggae. This time, she’s coming to Prague as a special guest of DOCTOR VICTOR.

She speaks of Vojtěch Bureš with genuine enthusiasm:

“I’m not afraid to say that he’s one of the best, and his artistry fascinates me. I remember seeing him for the first time, going wild on stage with his fans, and that really blew me away. He’s my hero, and I’m looking forward to performing with him,” says Ida Nielsen.

Their joint performance will blend DOCTOR VICTOR’s original rock with Ida Nielsen’s funky bass playing, drawing on her experience performing on stages around the world. For fans, this is an opportunity to experience Bureš not only as the guitarist for Wanastowi Vjecy or a guest with LUCIE, but above all as a singer, songwriter, and frontman of his own band.

From Abbey Road Straight to the Prague Audience

DOCTOR VICTOR has performed as the opening act for AC/DC, Deep Purple, and Jack White, as well as giving concerts across Europe, the United States, and Asia. The new album was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, where Vojtěch Bureš played all the instruments himself. DOCTOR VICTOR’s concerts are rooted in straightforward rock ’n’ roll, the energy of a live trio, and direct interaction with the audience.

On September 18 at the Lucerna Music Bar, this will be complemented by a unique meeting of two musical worlds: a rock trio from Prague and a bassist chosen by Prince himself to join his band.
